Town had poor defending to blame for a third successive away defeat as Hull ran out 3-1 winners. The Blues had their chances in a bright opening but two goals from Henrik Pedersen and one from ex-Town man Wayne Brown put the Tigers in an unassailable position prior to Dan Harding’s strike for Town.
Boss Jim Magilton was unhappy with the two goals conceded by his side during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Watford. The Town manager was particularly annoyed with his team’s first half display.
Town fell to their first league defeat of the season as Watford ran out 2-0 winners at Vicarage Road. Mistakes from Alex Bruce (pictured) and Neil Alexander gifted the Hornets the opener on five, with Tommy Smith wrapping the game up in the second half.
Keeper Neil Alexander is Town’s only doubt ahead of Saturday’s game at Watford. The Scotland international will travel to Hertfordshire with the squad on Friday but could return to Suffolk if his wife Joanne, currently in Ipswich Hospital, goes into labour.
Midfielder Owen Garvan has been called into the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for the friendly with Portugal on Friday, September 7th at Turner’s Cross in Cork. Striker Billy Clarke was named in the original squad.
Racing Santander have announced that they have completed the signing of former Town target César Navas.
Keeper Neil Alexander may miss Saturday’s game at Watford as his wife Joanne is close to giving birth at Ipswich Hospital.
The Scottish international will travel with the Town squad to Hertfordshire later today, but will return to Suffolk should his wife go into labour.
